How We Plan Designer & Stager Receiving and Placement

For a designer installation or staging day, a shipping label is only the start. A sectional may be destined for one room, accent chairs for another, and a mirror may stay packaged until the installer is ready. You need each accepted piece at its marked position while your team controls the composition.

Send us the delivery appointments, purchase list, room plan, and a contact who can decide at the door. We can meet carriers at the property, compare visible carton labels with your list, note packaging damage, and carry accepted pieces to their rooms. At a furnished site, we follow your keep, move, and remove directions.

Our crew handles physical placement and ordinary movable-item assembly when instructions and parts are available. You decide orientation, spacing, and styling; the dealer resolves product differences. If delivery precedes property access, your purchasing team arranges where goods go until installation. Photography or a showing is often booked soon after placement, so we plan the carry to leave rooms ready for your styling pass before that appointment.

What typically moves

  • Designer-selected sofas and sectionals Sections and removable legs stay identified together; your room plan determines the first placement before you adjust the composition.
  • Accent chairs and ottomans Matching pieces travel as room groups, with fabric surfaces covered through the entry route.
  • Dining tables and chair sets Leaves, bases, and supplied hardware stay with their table for assembly and position checks in the dining area.
  • Area rugs and rug pads Rolls go to their assigned rooms; your team confirms orientation and the final edge position beneath furnishings.
  • Framed art and freestanding mirrors Frames receive separate edge protection. Wall placement and hanging instructions stay with your designer and installer.
  • Table lamps and decorative accessories Fragile pieces remain grouped by vignette or room, then pass to your styling team for arrangement.

Access and scheduling

Align property access with the carrier appointments. Give us the address, entry instructions, purchase list, and a room plan showing where large pieces belong. Your on-site lead decides whether a missing, substituted, or visibly damaged piece enters the property.

We ask where a vehicle can unload, when an elevator may be used, and whether the building requires a Certificate of Insurance. A condo may limit delivery hours; a staged house may have a narrow driveway, finished floors, and photography booked after placement. Tell us which rooms are ready and which remain under another contractor's work. Ask about evening or weekend access when the property permits it. If carriers cannot align with site access, your purchasing contact handles the earlier handoff separately and gives us a new on-site appointment.

Protection and handling

Before unloading, we trace the path to each room. We check stair turns for wide upholstered pieces, cover exposed corners and fabric, and protect finished floors. Carton identifiers remain visible until your lead checks them against the room plan. We note visible damage at handoff and pause on disputed pieces for your purchasing contact's direction.

We can unpack agreed items, assemble ordinary movable furniture using supplied instructions, and position it to your layout. Table hardware stays with its parent piece; delicate accessories travel apart from larger items. Your designer adjusts sightlines, rug edges, art groupings, and styling details. Wall anchoring, hardwired fixtures, and specialty product setup belong to the installer or trade. We gather packaging opened during our work and follow the property's disposal instructions, then walk the rooms with your lead for a placement check.

Who does what

Some of this job belongs to other trades. The written plan names each one.

Product substitutions, shortages, and damage decisions
Your designer or purchasing contact works with the dealer or carrier under the order terms. We point out visible exceptions and move the pieces your contact accepts.
Wall-mounted art, anchored furnishings, and wired lighting
Your selected installer or licensed trade handles mounting, anchoring, electrical connections, and testing. We position agreed movable pieces for their work.
Final styling and room approval
Your designer or stager sets the composition and signs off on the finished rooms. We make directed adjustments to movable pieces during the scheduled placement.
Shipments arriving before property access
Your purchasing team arranges storage or another delivery destination with a provider it selects, then schedules our on-site receiving and placement after the property is ready.

Not part of our work

  • Holding early shipments between delivery and installation; your purchasing team arranges the separate destination and timing.
  • Choosing substitutions, filing dealer claims, or approving damaged merchandise on the designer's behalf.
  • Hanging art, anchoring furniture, or connecting hardwired fixtures; your installer or licensed trade performs that work.

Around San Antonio and the Hill Country

Staging work in San Antonio moves between downtown and Pearl-area condos with booked service elevators and larger homes in Stone Oak, The Dominion, and Alamo Heights, where the carry to rear rooms is long. In Cordillera Ranch near Boerne and other gated communities, the gate needs the crew and each carrier listed in advance.

Designer & Stager Receiving and Placement FAQs

Another question? Call (830) 329-7272.

Can you meet a designer's vendors directly at the installation property?

We can plan around confirmed delivery appointments. Send carrier details, purchase list, room assignments, and someone who can accept or question a shipment. At handoff, we compare visible labels and carton condition with your list. Your purchasing contact handles discrepancies with the seller; we carry accepted pieces to the designated rooms.

How do you keep pieces for different client rooms from being mixed up?

Give each room an identifier on the installation plan and mark pieces belonging to a particular vignette. We use those destinations when moving cartons and furniture, keeping loose hardware with its parent item. Your designer checks placement against the plan before the styling pass, when chairs, rugs, and accessories can be adjusted.

What if a staging sofa arrives before the home is ready?

Your purchasing team sets a separate delivery destination with its chosen provider and confirms when the property can receive the sofa. If that arrangement is not in place yet, ask us about options when you book the placement date. Once access is available, send revised arrival details and a room plan so the piece goes straight to its intended position.

Will your crew hang art and finish the staging layout?

We can carry protected frames to the assigned room and position movable furniture to your layout. Your art installer handles hanging and wall attachment; your designer decides spacing, accessories, and camera angles. For a placement adjustment during the scheduled work, your on-site lead can direct the crew before the room check.
