We walk both routes with your facilities manager. The plan separates pieces that the manufacturer allows to travel assembled from units requiring a technician's preparation. For approved movable equipment, our crew pads contact points, keeps removable accessories with their machine, and places each piece at its marked location. A vendor handles steps the manufacturer assigns to trained service personnel, including any required setup check before use.

Heavy frames also change the floor plan for the move itself: we look at door clearances, thresholds, elevator limits, and where a cart can turn without crossing unfinished flooring. A piece too heavy for the stairs or the freight elevator's rated load goes to a specialized lift contractor.

Access and scheduling

Give us the equipment list before the walkthrough, including model information and any maker instructions you already have. We compare machine dimensions with door openings, corridor turns, stairs, dock approaches, and any freight elevator's stated capacity. Stairs change the plan for heavy frames. Your building contact confirms loading hours, staging, and Certificate of Insurance needs.

At the destination, mark every machine's landing spot on the floor plan and identify which rooms the flooring contractor has released for moving traffic. Heavy units need a route with suitable surface protection and enough room to turn; a bare room is not necessarily a ready room. The equipment vendor's preparation visit comes before loading where the manufacturer requires it. Your manager chooses which stations remain in use.

Protection and handling

We inspect the planned path with your site contact, especially transitions from rubber training floor to tile, concrete, or a lift threshold. Floor protection and corner guards go where loaded carts will travel, with the flooring contractor approving traffic on new material.

Before loading, each approved machine gets a destination label and its removable pieces get a matching label. Consoles, pads, pins, and small hardware are packed according to the manufacturer's directions; exposed edges and touch surfaces are padded. Our crew uses the approved travel position and handling points, and pauses if the actual route differs from the measured plan. A machine that requires service disassembly stays with the equipment vendor's preparation and reassembly process. At placement, we leave clearance around the unit for that vendor's final checks and for your staff to confirm the training layout.

Machine disassembly, reassembly, and operating checks: Your equipment vendor or manufacturer technician interprets model-specific instructions, prepares units requiring service work, reassembles them, and confirms they are ready for use. We move only the pieces released into the agreed moving scope.
Rubber flooring and floor release: Your flooring contractor removes or installs the surface and confirms when protected cart traffic may cross it. We follow the released route while moving equipment.
Anchored training equipment: Your equipment installer assesses and removes building anchors, then secures the unit at the destination as required. We plan movement only after the installer releases the piece.

Not part of our work

Manufacturer-required service work on motors, cables, weight stacks, or controls; your equipment vendor prepares and tests those systems.
Removing or installing rubber flooring and fastening equipment to the building; the flooring contractor or equipment installer handles those steps.
Lifting a machine by forklift, crane, or rigging where stairs, a dock, or elevator capacity rule out carrying it; a rigging contractor handles that lift.

That depends on its model, the manufacturer's approved travel position, and the full path through both buildings. Send the model information and any moving instructions, then we can measure the deck, console, door openings, and turns during the walkthrough. If the maker calls for technician preparation, your equipment vendor handles that step before our crew moves the released unit.

Who handles the cables and weight stack on a selectorized machine?

The equipment vendor should follow the manufacturer's instructions for cable tension, stack separation, reassembly, and an operating check. We can inventory and move components the vendor releases, keeping their labels together so they return to the correct frame. Ask the vendor to identify any parts that must travel in a particular position before we set the loading order.

What if a weight machine is too heavy for our stairs or freight elevator?

Send the machine's shipping weight and the elevator's rated capacity before the walkthrough. If a frame still exceeds what the stairs or elevator can safely take after the vendor removes the weight stack and other parts, a specialized lift contractor handles that piece. We can move the lighter released components and set up around the frame once the contractor places it.

What should we do with plates and attachments before moving the racks?

Have your staff identify which plates, bars, pegs, and attachments belong to each rack or lifting station. We can pack and label those loose pieces as separate loads so the frame is lighter and the small parts reach the right location. Your equipment installer handles any anchors; tell us which racks are freestanding and which are fixed before the walkthrough.
